The Top 10 Prepper Gifts for 2015 : 1. The Kleen Kanteen I first saw this on an episode of “Fat Guys in the Woods.” I did some research and think this is the ultimate canteen. It’s made of stainless steel, and if you go with the wide mouth, 64 ounce version, you can purify plenty of water as well as easily cook any food you might be able to find. I’ve been pretty good this year, so I think Santa will come through on this one for me. 2. Ammunition This is a no-brainer. Even if someone is just starting out in planning their bug out plan, Continue reading
6 Takeaways From the Paris Terrorist Attacks That Could Save Your Life : As you all probably know by now, multiple terrorist attacks have been acted out throughout different parts of the world within the last few months – Kenya, Afghanistan, Beirut, and Paris with Paris being the most publicized. The last time I wrote about something like this was in regard to the Boston Marathon bombing back in April of 2013. It doesn’t seem like it has already been 2.5 years since then. Pemmican Recipe Help : Thanks to Paul for being the first submission in my “Letters From Fans” section! Here’s what he had to say – Thanks for the tips on funding bug out bag. The plan is to pour this from a ziploc bag into a container and to let soak in water while you hike. Actually turns out very tasty! I now want to add pemmican, do you know Continue reading
Sleep is Essential to Survival : Seems like these days we live in a 24/7 world – everyone has so much to do and not enough time to do it in. The only time we are “unproductive” is when we’re sleeping… or is it? There are thousands of studies on how the lack of sleep affects the human body, and these effects are compounded and more life threatening in a survival situation. Sleep would be one of the last things on my mind when I’m trying to get from point A to point B in a crisis situation, but it can be one of the most Continue reading
One man’s trash bag… : …is another man’s survival! Heavy duty trash bags have a multitude of survival applications – water catch/holder, poncho, shelter, sleeping bag, flotation device, waterproof container/bandage/boots, sling, collecting food, or a sanitary latrine. You could opt for the cheaper route and just buy regular trash bags, but with as many as I have torn, I’d personally rather spend the few extra bucks when it comes to my and my family’s survival – 3 mil or “contractor” bags should do the trick. Depending on where you get them and the brand, you can get 20 – 50 in a box for $15 Continue reading
